9.5" x 14" copper engraved view of Italian port activities, as seen in 1641-42. Produced near the source of the first copper engravings, this piece was drawn and engraved by Stephano della Bella . In 1641 della Bella was sent to Arras to make drawings for prints of the siege and taking of that town by the Royal army, by Cardinal Richealieu. This is one of those images from that period. Worn but original condition, worthy of restoration and priced for the conservator in training, as a rare and important piece from the mid 17th century Excellent engraving
