" A Comparative Collection of Buildings, Ancient and Modern, remarkable for the Beauty, Grandeur and Singularity" was a first for its successful comparison of buildings great distances from each other which would require months of travel to make a personal comparison, that would be still lesser than these produced by Durand. Among the great illustrators / Architects to travel with Napoleon during several of his campaigns and documented the buildings on the spot as a spoil of War , along with relics returned to the Louvre'. Condition on this folio is fine being a period hand laid grand folio with a copper engraved detail .
