An early and very rare view from the shore of Yerba Buena cove, along the spear st waterfront leading to Rincon Point , the terminus of the cove . A view looking north west to nob hill and north across the cove to the ships at anchor, being north of market within the cove, off Clark's Point & Commercial Wharf aka Long Wharf. The tents are indicative of Happy Valley in this context, a flat land between Rincon Point and the Sand Dunes of Market St at 3rd.
